St. Paul Lutheran Church

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chenoa collaborates with St. Paul Lexington for Youth Group. The Senior Youth Group comprises of teenagers from 8th grade through High School Seniors. They meet at Lexington St. Paul’s on the first & third Sunday’s of each month from 6-8 p.m. The group does have fundraising events in order to support their trip to the “Gathering”. This is held every 3 years (the next one will be in New Orleans in the year 2010), where they come together with some 25,000 other kids to learn more about their relationship with God, Jesus, & the Holy Spirit. This includes pictures from several fund raisers, such as, car wash, building shed for Habitat for Humanity, Dessert Auction and many others.

The Youth Group from St. Paul Lutheran Church will be having a car wash Saturday, August 9th from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the church parking lot. Donations will be accepted. Funds raised will be used to offset the cost of building a shed for the Habitat for Humanity. This endeavor has allowed the youth to learn about giving back to the community. Next formal Youth Group meeting will be Aug. 17th 6-7 p.m. We will be doing adopt-a-highway that night. On Sept. 7th we will have the new year kick off. We will have a video scavenger hunt.

Spaghetti Supper with silent auction Oct 5th from 5-7 p.m. will be held at St. Paul’s Lexington. This is the big fund raiser for the Youth Group to help cover their expenses to attend the “Gathering” in 2010. Anyone interested in donating a basket of items/services for the silent auction please speak to Pam, Mitchell or Jennifer.
